“Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness.” Hebrews 12:10 NIV
Our biological fathers strive to do and give the best for their children based on their knowledge and capacities. They guided and taught us to stand and walk. As we progress, they then showed and helped us to hold and carry things, to cross the street, to bathe ourselves until they introduce us to bigger tasks and responsibilities relating to our cognitive, emotional and social development. The time we spent together made our fathers become more sensitive to our need for love, attention, direction and discipline. Our Spiritual Father has the complete knowledge and wisdom, perfect love and divine providence. We are born anew and predestined to be raised as perfect sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. He is never unreasonable but always fair. We are not disciplined by trials and temptations beyond what we are able to bear. It can be painful and sorrowful for us when we are being corrected by God, our Father, due to our wrongdoings, however, we do know that it is for our own goodness. His motive is pure love and affection for us. It is always and entirely for the benefit, perfection and sanctification of His Beloved Children. Cheer up dear Brothers and Sisters, whatever you are dealing with now in your Christian battle, we are certain that it will we shall be rewarded with crown of eternal life and glory as partakers of His holiness.
