Let the wonderful kindness and the understanding that come from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ help you to keep on growing. Praise Jesus now and forever! Amen. (2 Peter 3:18 CEV)
Growth is an indication of life. When there is no growth of the physical body, something is terribly wrong and death is around the corner. So is with the spiritual. If you do not grow spiritually, there is no spiritual life. Spiritual growth is commanded and is expected from every child of God. God wants us to grow spiritually from the time we were created in Christ until we become perfectly mature. Maturity can be understood to be being built up and established in faith, to be perfectly holy, transformed in the image of Christ, pressing towards the goal and going into perfection. It is a daily progress in our spiritual experience with God and an increase in our knowledge of Him, His ways, holiness and specially His love. The key to spiritual growth is to increase in the knowledge of God through His words and His works in our lives, to compel us to obey Him and seek Him, desire and love Him more and more each day. Growing spiritually is not determined by how long you have been attending Church, how blessed you are in life nor how knowledgeable and honorable you are in the world. Spiritual growth is a transformed life through the words of God. Are you growing? If so, are you growing at the right growth rate? You see brethren, to grow spiritually is our obligation and a privilege bestowed upon us by Christ. I pray that you all grow in grace and understanding of the Lord, in praise and glory of His precious name. Let us grow into a maturity, into the perfect image of Christ.
