My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. Luke 15:31
Abba, our Loving Father, you taught us the parable of the Prodigal Son. First, Lord, we pray that you forgive our sins just as the father forgave his prodigal son. May we not squander our inheritance in wild living. You have given us our portion of the blessings of material, physical and spiritual wealth as your children. May we be able to use or spend them wisely, and invest them to gain for ourselves eternal life. Secondly, Lord, we pray that your give us also a forgiving heart for an erring brother or sister. If we do not forgive, we are not entitled for your forgiveness. Please remove in our heart and mind the spirit of jealousy and self-pity. May our heart bear compassion and mercy for our brothers and sisters who are lost, they who have “died” and because of your grace and merciful love they are alive again. Thirdly, Lord, may we find enjoyment in your presence which is the greatest wealth we can ever have. May we be able to know you more as our Father whose love for us is everlasting. May we also love you until eternity and be with you forever to enjoy you and be blessed with all the richness of heaven as our inheritance. This is our hope, our prayer in your name. Amen.
