“We never give up. Our bodies are gradually dying, but we ourselves are being made stronger each day.”
(2Corinthians 4:16 CEV)
We were created from the dusts of the earth and with the breath of life from God we became living souls. Our physical body is the outward man and our soul is the inner man. Our body is visible, temporal and subject to decay and death whereas our soul, the spiritual, is invisible and eternal and regenerates to perfection to live forever.
The body affects the soul and the soul affects our body. When the outward man is stronger it dominates the soul and man falls into sin. But when the soul dominates the body, the body dies in itself and the soul lives in godliness. The soul must overcome the flesh so as to live eternally. Inversely, if the flesh dominates the soul, man dies to perish in hell.
Both needs nourishments to live and stay healthy. The body needs food but even if it is fed properly, still it decays and dies. If the soul is fed properly it will live forever. So take care of your body but most of all take care of your soul. The food for the soul are the words and works of God. Hear the words of God and obey them. Your food is doing the works of God who created you. May God bless your soul.
