For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory (2Cor 4:17 NKJV).
We are called not only to be saved but also to suffer with Christ. Each of us has a cross to carry. Christ exemplified how to overcome sufferings and accomplish His work of salvation for those who believe His Gospel. Even if our afflictions are many and continuous, we will surely overcome. God will strengthen us and will show us the way to victory. Know that God is preparing us for the coronation day when He will give us the Crown of life. Sufferings make us patient, patience makes us perfect in doing good works of serving the Lord. If we are perfect serving God, we can serve Him perfectly for all eternity in Heaven. So do not be dismayed nor afraid when our faith is being tried. Rather, rejoice for you are being formed in the perfect image of Christ. All of our suffering last only for a while and are light compared with the eternal rest in the presence of God.
